Well, this is the end of the super duper new years Mx bonanza. The weather was perfect everyday, including Sunday. Only now when we're driving home did it start raining a little.
I thought I would be tired this morning from staying up past midnight to watch new Year No Limits. Well, I was, but I kind of willed myself to get up. Ok ok... It might've been half an hour after the alarm. But whatever. The night before we actually had a weird adventure trying to figure out how we were going to do laundry. My gear was just a tad super dirty..
First there was no detergent at the hotel. Then the laundromat and supermarket that we drove to just closed. Eventually we got what we needed, so it was all good. If you consider white gear still looking like it got pelted by mud and rocks good..
We got to the track on time this morning. Wheeee. The fog was really bad, too. I had the second moto again, and it was still foggy at that time. Oh well. So here are some results:
250 B moto 2: pretty bad start again. I got past some people, though. Some of the battles were pretty cool. This was the race where me and Shane kind of had a friendly rivalry. He's been living and riding down south now, so our speeds are pretty even now. He may be a little faster, but race conditions were I guess a little more beneficial for me. So I got 17th. That's 18-17 for 17th overall.
450 B moto 2: in this one I tried to start wayyyyy on the outside. I was hoping to just keep it pinned and get around everyone. It didn't quite work out that way.. I almost crashed all by myself in the first turn. Oh, and everybody was already there. Oh well. I then battled a little bit with some guys. I was putting some good pressure on them, so on the second to last lap two guys just pretty much let me by. They must've gotten tired. So I started pushing some more to get away from them. But then I crashed after a step-up leading into a turn. I was pretty surprised by that. My effort was lost.. So I got back up and attempted to ride good again. For some reason my front end was pushing like crazy, though. I found out on the last lap that my front tire was flat. Great. One more crash, cruise to the finish. 12-18 for 16th.
2-stroke moto 2: I win! (by default of being the only guy. Whatever, I still get to say #1). Even though I won, I still had to battle with the guys in the other class on the same gate drop. That didn't end up well because I got stuck behind some guy again. I feel like I should've just stopped and let him go so I could just ride by myself. No bueno.
So that's all folks. This was a pretty good trip. Now we just have to endure the 15 hour drive back home. Hopefully it won't be snowy at home. It's nice not having any snow.
Have a happy 2012! See ya. -Greg
